Bobby Lashley explains why he left WWE for AEW

Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley left WWE after his contract expired in August. Lashley made his All Elite Wrestling debut on the October 30th episode of Dynamite: Fright Night, where he attacked former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland and formed the Hurt Syndicate (formerly known as Hurt Business in WWE) alongside MVP and Shelton Benjamin.

On the November 20th episode of Dynamite, Lashley made his AEW in-ring debut, defeating Cheeseburger and Joe Keys in a two-on-one handicap match. Lashley defeated Strickland by technical submission at the Full Gear pay-per-view.

In an interview with Justin Barrasso, Lashley explained why he signed with AEW.

"The reason is The Hurt Syndicate. We wanted an opportunity to run with the group, and Tony Khan gave us that opportunity in AEW. We didn’t get the opportunity to show what we really wanted to do before. Now we do. The possibilities and ideas about what we can do in AEW, that keeps me up at night."
